Here are some pictures from servicing a 9090DB, one of the legendary “super-receivers” from the 70’s. It was brought in by the original owner, and was in excellent condition, especially considering its age!
The old main power supply capacitors were replaced with Cornell Dublier 15mF 100V, which fit well and looks quite “factory”. Other than that, it basically just needed a good general cleaning, as well as the switches and controls, and a trim of bias and DC balance. I don’t recall if I changed all the bulbs for the power meters and front panel, but I probably did.
The tuner section worked just fine, so it wasn’t touched. Also, FM radio is gradually disappearing here (in DK), so the tuner is not so important anymore (Just as well, as I don’t have the skill or equipment for proper tuner alignment).
